Dual agency occurs when one agent represents both the buyer and the seller in the same deal. It’s legal in some states but requires full disclosure and consent from both parties. While it can simplify communication, it limits how much the agent can advocate for either side. Most clients prefer separate representation to ensure their best interests are fully protected.
