Blog > What Does “As-Is” Mean in a Home Listing?
“As-is” means the seller is offering the property in its current condition and doesn’t intend to make repairs or improvements before closing. Buyers can still perform inspections, but any issues uncovered will generally become their responsibility.
In my experience, “as-is” doesn’t always mean a bad deal — it just requires extra due diligence. Often, these homes are priced to reflect the condition. With the right inspection and financial cushion, they can be excellent opportunities for buyers willing to invest some work.
